App Development Experience
I created an app with a positive educational impact after winning an internal competition at Epping Forest College. The app titled 'App to the Future" aims to help young people make a well-informed decision on their career path.
In addition to coming up with the app concept, I worked closely with the team helping to build the wireframes creating an interface that was both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. Due to budget and time constraints, the app is up and running within the college using SharePoint. Independently, I am looking to develop the app further in the hope that it can reach its full potential helping young people gain new skills whilst finding a job. In short, I would like the final app working like a database categorising work experience placements; allowing students to search by location, skill, and subject for an opportunity tailored to them.
On this page is an overview of the creative and practical steps that were taken in bringing the idea to life.
In April 2018 entered the app into the Jisc Student Ideas Competition and won £2000 and a place on the week design sprint to develop it further. A vlog of the week can be seen below.
